Carbon Five Privacy Policy

1. Introduction

We are committed to handling information in a secure and responsible manner so that you may confidently enjoy our websites, web applications, and web services (“Properties”). This privacy policy applies to all Properties operated by Carbon Five, Inc. (“Carbon Five,” “we,” or “our”). If you have questions or concerns about how Carbon Five uses information, you may contact us by email at productdartboard@carbonfive.com.

2. Use of Information

Like all website and web service operators, Carbon Five receives, gathers, manages, analyzes, and transfers information. We do so in order to operate and maintain our Properties and to do business with customers and business partners. For example, we may receive, gather, manage, analyze, and transfer:

  • non-personally identifying information such as browser type, location, language preference, referring site, and the date and time of use of our websites and services;

  • information that users upload or transmit to or through our Properties;

  • information concerning the use of our Properties by users;

  • information about users of our Properties that we receive from business partners; and

  • information that users of our Properties have made public.

Carbon Five may receive, gather, manage, analyze, and transfer information in order to correspond with users of its Properties. Carbon Five may, or may not, control the use of information by users, business partners, and customers. Carbon Five uses information to verify the identity of users, to check user qualifications, and to follow up with transactions initiated on our Properties. We may use contact information to inform users of any changes to our Properties or to send users additional information about Carbon Five and its products and services.

3. Personally-Identifying Information

Some users of our websites and services provide us with personally-identifying information when registering to use our Properties, or when entering into commercial transactions concerning paid-for products and services. For example, a user may provide us with an email address in order to register for access to a Property or provide us with a physical address when ordering a product or service. Unless a user provides us with permission at the time of disclosure or at another time, we will not transfer, lease, or sell personally-identifying information collected at the time of such registration or commercial transaction except as follows. We may share such information in response to a subpoena, court order, or other governmental request, or when we believe in good faith that disclosure is reasonably necessary to protect the rights or interests of Carbon Five, its customers, or business partners, or the public at large.

4. Public Information

Users may choose to use our Properties to make information public. For example, when using the Product Dartboard application, a user may divulge information to other users of that service in an unrestricted manner. Carbon Five cannot and does not control how this divulged information is used and further disseminated. We may ask users of our Properties to provide us with a username and a user profile. Usernames and profiles will be made available to the public.

5. Information from Third Parties

We may obtain from various parties information about users of our Properties and about the use of those Properties. For example, when a user logs on to Product Dartboard by way of LinkedIn.com, we may obtain information about that log-in from LinkedIn.com. We may combine such information with other information and use it in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

6. Cross-Border Deliveries

The facilities of Carbon Five and its business partners are located around the world. As a result, information provided to us by a user may be delivered to, and processed in, a country that mandates a lesser level of data protection than does the user’s home country.

7. Security

We employ security measures designed to prevent the loss, misuse, and alteration of information, but we make no assurances about our ability to prevent any such loss, misuse, or alteration.

8. Other Sites and Services

Our Properties may link to websites and services offered by various parties who maintain separate privacy policies. We do not control such parties or the terms upon which you deal with such parties. Dealings with any such party are between you and such party. We suggest that you read and understand the privacy policy of each party with whom you engage.

9. Children

Children under the age of 13 may not use our Properties. If it comes to our attention that we have collected personally-identifying information from any person under the age of 13, we will make reasonable efforts to delete this information as soon as possible.

10. Access to Information

Users may request access, correction, or deletion of personally-identifying information as required by law. Carbon Five will make reasonable efforts to comply with any bone fide request. Requests may be made to Carbon Five at the addresses mentioned above.

11. Cookies and Web Beacons

A cookie is a string of information that a website stores on a visitor’s device and that the visitor’s browser provides to a website each time the visitor returns. We use cookies to help us identify and track visitors, their usage, and their access preferences. Users who do not wish to have cookies placed on their devices should set their browser to refuse cookies before using our websites and services, with the drawback that certain features of our Properties may not function properly without the aid of cookies. This Privacy Policy does not cover cookies set by any third parties. A web beacon is a small (often invisible) graphic image or other web programming code embedded in a web page or email. Web beacons or similar technologies may be used by Carbon Five for a number of purposes, including to count visitors to our websites and services, to monitor how users navigate our services, and to count how many sent email messages are actually opened.

12. Business Transfers

If Carbon Five, Inc. is acquired or sells all or a portion of its assets to another company, or declares bankruptcy, it is likely that information held by Carbon Five will be transferred away from Carbon Five. Nothing in the policy is meant to forbid such a transfer.

13. Change of Policy

Carbon Five may change its Privacy Policy from time to time. Your use of a Property after a change means that you accept the changed policy. Users should check this page to review any changes.
